What this doesn't include

Questions, answered

Why don't you fill in an interest rate?
Rates differ by lender, loan type, deposit size and your situation, and they change often. A default rate could leave you with the wrong picture, so we ask you to enter the rate you've actually been quoted.
Are fortnightly repayments cheaper than monthly?
They can be. There are 26 fortnights in a year, so paying every fortnight can add up to slightly more each year than 12 monthly payments, which may shorten your loan. How it works depends on how your lender calculates fortnightly repayments, so check with them.
What's the difference between principal and interest and interest only?
Principal and interest repayments pay down the loan as well as the interest. Interest-only repayments cover just the interest, so the balance doesn't fall. When the interest-only period ends, repayments usually rise because the full balance is repaid over a shorter remaining term.
How accurate is this?
It's a guide. Lenders round and calculate interest in slightly different ways, and fees and rate changes aren't included. Your lender's loan documents will show your actual repayments.

This calculator gives estimates only, based on the figures you enter. It assumes the rate stays the same for the whole loan term and doesn't include fees, charges or rate changes. It isn't a quote, a credit offer or an indication that you'd be approved for a loan. It's general information only and doesn't take your objectives, financial situation or needs into account. No interest rates are quoted on this website.
